We are pleased to offer Management Scholarships to Pakistani undergraduate students starting their studies in the Management School in September 2010.

The scholarships are worth £1,500 per year each.

Eligibility and Award Criteria:

  • You must hold an offer of a study place and begin your undergraduate studies in September 2010 in the Management School.
  • You must be self-funding and classified as overseas for tuition fee purposes.
  • The scholarships will be awarded automatically – no application is required in first or subsequent years.
  • The scholarships will be awarded unconditionally in the first year of studies. Award in subsequent years of study is subject to the achievement of 60% overall average mark.
  • The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.

Pakistan Merit Undergraduate Scholarships 2010 (£6,500)

There are two Pakistan Merit Undergraduate Scholarships, available for Pakistani students starting their undergraduate degree studies in September 2010.

Each scholarship is worth £6,500 of your undergraduate course tuition fee per year. The scholarships will take the form of a fee reduction.

To be eligible for the Pakistan Merit Undergraduate Scholarships 2010 (£6,500) applicants must be a Pakistani national or permanently domiciled in Pakistan, apply for a study place by 23 April 2010 and hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2010.

The Pakistan Merit Undergraduate Scholarships 2010 are awarded on the basis of academic merit.

If you wish to be considered for this scholarship you need to apply. Eligible students will automatically be sent details of how to apply from January 2010 onwards.

Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.

Pakistan Sheffield Scholarships 2010

We are pleased to offer the Pakistan Sheffield Scholarship 2010 to all Pakistani students starting a Taught Masters programme in September 2010.

The scholarships are:

  • £1,500 each for students paying fees between £10,940 – £12,100
  • £2,000 each for students paying fees of £12,101 and upwards

Eligibility and Award Criteria:

  • You must hold an offer of a study place and begin your postgraduate Taught Masters programme in September 2010.
  • You must be an Pakistan national or permanently domiciled in Pakistan.
  • You must be self-funding and classified as overseas for fee purposes.
  • The scholarships will be awarded automatically – no application is required.
  • The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.

Pakistan Merit Postgraduate Scholarships 2010 (£6,500)

There is one Pakistan Merit Postgraduate Scholarship 2010, available for Pakistani students starting their postgraduate taught masters degree studies in September 2010.

The scholarship is worth £6,500 of your postgraduate taught masters degree tuition fee per year, for one year of study. The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.

To be eligible for the Pakistan Merit Postgraduate Scholarship 2010, applicants must be a Pakistani national or permanently domiciled in Pakistan, apply for a study place by 25 June 2010 and hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2010.

The Pakistan Merit Scholarship 2010 is awarded on the basis of academic merit.

If you wish to be considered for this scholarship you need to apply. Eligible students will automatically be sent details of how to apply from January 2010 onwards.

*Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.

UNESCO-Japan Research Fellowships Programme 2010- For Developing Countries Students.

UNESCO/Keizo Obuchi (Japan) Co-Sponsored Research Fellowships Programme: 2010 Cycle – With a view to keeping alive and honouring the spirit of former Prime Minister Obuchi and his belief in “people building the next era”, 20 fellowships per year, for the ninth year, will be awarded to deserving candidates from UNESCO developing countries, especially the least developed countries (LDCs), who are eager to undertake research on one or more of the topics listed below. The aim of the fellowships is to support innovative and imaginative post-graduate research in the areas of development to which former Prime Minister Obuchi was committed and which coincide with areas of particular interest to UNESCO.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants, a maximum of TWO from each applying National Commission, must meet the following general criteria:

1. Candidates under this Programme must be post-graduate researchers, already holding either an M.A. or M.Sc. degree (or equivalent) and wishing to pursue research work abroad (preferably in their own region) with a view to enhancing knowledge in one of the four specific fields

2. Candidates must be persons of high intellectual promise who may be expected to make significant contributions to their country on return.

3. Candidates must be no more than 40 years of age. Thus, applicants born before 1 January 1970 will not be considered under the Programme.

4. Priority attention will be given to:

* Women
* Candidates from least developed countries (LDCs)
* Palestinian researchers

6. Candidates must be proficient in reading and writing the language of instruction in the proposed country of study/research.

CONDITIONS FOR APPLICATION

  1. Domains of research
    • Environment (with particular emphasis on to Water Sciences);
    • Intercultural Dialogue;
    • Information and Communication Technologies;
    • Peaceful Conflicts Resolution.

2. Duration of proposed research: minimum: 3 months ~ maximum: 9 months

3. Deadline for termination of research: December 2011

4. Place of study: 1 or 2 countries abroad

The 2010 NASA Scholarship Awards for Undergraduate and Graduate Students in Aeronautics or Related Fields

NASA Accepting Applications for Aeronautics Scholarship Awards : NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate will begin accepting scholarship applications on Sept. 1, 2009, for the 2010 academic year. The NASA ASP online application has been open from September 1st, 2009 

The application deadline is Jan. 11, 2010

“These scholarships are a fantastic way to support our brightest students and encourage them to finish their education, expose them to NASA’s research programs and inspire them to pursue a career in aeronautics,” said Jaiwon Shin, associate administrator for the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington.

Undergraduate Students

  • $15,000 awarded for each school year, to be used for educational related expenses
  • $10,000 Summer internship at a NASA Research Center
  • 2 years of support

Graduate Students

  • $35,000 stipend
  • $11,000 awarded each year, to be used for educational related expenses
  • $10,000 Summer internship at a NASA Research Center
  • 2 years of support, with an option for 3
