IIS Appoints Academic and Student Services Manager

The Institute of Ismaili Studies is delighted to welcome Pamela Swanborough as Academic and Student Services Manager in the Department of Graduate Studies. Ms. Swanborough started at the Institute in February 2010.

Ms. Swanborough completed her Master of Science in Business Administration from Canterbury Christ Church University in 2000. Her Masters degree focused on service quality and project management. Ms. Swanborough has previously worked for an independent college affiliated with Swansea University where her role included working with international students enrolled in pre-Masters and Foundation Courses.

As Senior Manager of Student Services with a small team of staff and student helpers, she was responsible for the provision of all support services to the staff and students, including visa matters and immigration, orientation, accommodation, student finance, attendance and discipline, publications and handbooks, and student welfare.

Prior to this, Ms. Swanborough has 15 years’ experience of providing student support at Canterbury Christ Church University. She is originally from Melbourne, Australia, and moved to the UK in 1992. Ms. Swanborough is excited about her new role at the Institute and is very interested in the work of the Institute as a whole.
