A Day in Punjab Ismaili History and the first Aga Khan Awards‏

Midweek happiness….Today’s contributions in the I Wish I’d Been There Series are from Edmonton’s Dr. Shamas Nanji, a poet and scholar, and UK’s Dr. Ali Mohammad Rajput.

Dr. Nanji wishes he had been present for the first Aga Khan Awards held in Lahore’s magical Shalimar Gardens some 30 years ago. And he does so beautifully in a poetic form. For example in one of the quatrains he pens:

Built spaces,  Are in disharmony, In place of orchestra, We’ve got cacophony
