The Aga Khan University, Pakistan: Second National Vaccine Seminar

Aga Khan University (AKU) along with Trust for Vaccines and Immunizations (TVI) are organising the Second National Vaccination seminar in Karachi. The previous seminar, which was held in February 2011, was critical in ratifying the draft of National Vaccination Action Plan. The Division of Women and Child Health, AKU has been at the forefront of advocacy for the prevention and management of childhood morbidity and mortality, including vaccine preventable
diseases.

The two-day seminar aims to unite all health professionals and civil society representatives besides other stakeholders such as policy makers, international health organisations (USAID, WHO, UNICEF), health officials at federal and provincial levels, paediatricians, NGOs, donors, primary health care providers, and many others, in order to create awareness and take effective action for preventing and combating vaccine preventable diseases in Pakistan.
