JOSH Games 2011 conclude.…Looking to change lifestyles, and promoting sporting excellence.
Islamabad, November 20, 2011 – Two days of competition at the National JOSH Games 2011,which were initiated five days ago, came to an end with a glamorous closing ceremony here today. Intense competition, celebration and messages of an improved lifestyle were some of the underpinnings of the five-day event.
Speaking at the closing event, Mr. Imtiaz Inayat Elahi, Chairman, Capital Development Authority (CDA) said “the CDA is thankful to the Aga Khan Youth & Sports Board for organizing such a mega event in Islamabad. We would like to meet soon to chalk out a plan to take this agenda of sports of fitness to a wider audience of youth in our country”, he added. In his speech, he encouraged all the participants to take active part in sports and excel, not only for their families, but also for Pakistan.
In her concluding speech, Ms. Shams Jeewa, Chairperson, Aga Khan Youth & Sports Board for Pakistan, expressed her gratitude to Mr. Elahi for encouraging the participants and for his presence at the event. Ms. Jeewa stated that “sports and fitness are integral aspects that contribute towards a healthier and balanced lifestyle. Towards the end, Ms. Shams Jeewa officially declared the Games closed and said that he would like to see more participants, very soon, for the next JOSH National Games.
