Microsoft, Aga Khan to launch tech centres

ISLAMABAD: Microsoft and the Aga Khan Foundation in Pakistan inked an agreement to establish the country’s first pilot Community Technology Learning Centres in the remote northern areas of Gilgit and Hunza. By expanding ICT access and training resources to these rural areas, these centres will offer local residents new social and economic opportunities. Joined on Monday’s signing ceremony by CEO of the Aga Khan Foundation in Pakistan Al-Nashir Jamal, Country General Manager of Microsoft Pakistan, Kamal Ahmed remarked, “We are thrilled to collaborate with the Aga Khan Foundation in Pakistan on a pilot project that will build a knowledge economy for Pakistan.”
